In 1934 launched the "Winton Engine Co." a two-stroke diesel engine model 201A, who was the first standard engine, there later was followed by the 567´s. In 1939 go the engine out of the production.

This engine type are never to be a exported to countries outside the American continent.

The engine is used in the first E-locomotives, who go

to production in 1937 and in the unique model TA, this is like as then from 1939 produced F-locomotives, apart from the TA´s was 6-axle with the axle arrangement A1A-A1A. Over this locomotives, came the engine type to used in large numbers of DMU, who was the American high speed train with names like "Pioneer Zephyr", "California Zephyr", "Green Diamond" and many more.

To this engine came to used the generator type D8.
